Would you please let me know the date the demolition of Hiawatha and/or Thomas Jefferson schools will begin. I taught sixth grade science for 33 years at whatever building was the middle school at the time. That would be starting at the old Lincoln School then TJ (the first middle school in the state of Wisconsin) and then the building that had been North High School.

I want to take some pictures and maybe meet a former student or teacher. Perhaps the date I need to know is when they start taking off the yellow brick.

    Thank you, Bob Buehler

      Hi Bob,

You can find all the information about the tear down here: http://wp.me/p7tNmU-69

The demolition crew has already started abatement of asbestos, and it is no longer safe for the general public to be in the building. Actual demolition of both buildings will not occur until into the start of the school year. Unfortunately, the yellow bricks are covered in a leaded glaze, so if your intent was to take a brick, we cannot allow you to do so as it would put us at a liability. Sorry about that.
